The Indiana Super Mileage Competition started in 1990 with its purpose to challenge high school students to design and build vehicles to achieve the highest possible fuel mileage. The competition is open to high school students from around the state of Indiana. Their objective is to use the latest technologies and manufacturing processes to build their vehicle and compete at the event held every April.
The event took place at O’Reilly Raceway park in Clermont, IN and Area 30 Career Center competed for the third time with students from five Putnam and Morgan county high schools working on the vehicle. The goal is to provide these students with opportunities to learn and create. This project positively impacts many students from the area and it is a great way for the community and Area 30 Career Center to work together to benefit their students.
